Dear Everyone:
I’m concentrating this week on trying to recover
from this nasty cold.
Every time I start to jump up and do something, I
stop and ask myself: “Is it
really worth it?”
Sure, the wastebaskets are starting to overflow,
but seriously, just how far can those tissues run?
The computer can wait.
The patio will still be there tomorrow.
The used-to-be-a-Christmas-tree is still in its stand, but it’s
not going anywhere.
The bathtub needs to be scrubbed, but the
Health
Department is not exactly beating on the door.
It can wait. It can
all wait.
There are books to read; movies backed up on the
DVR; two more skeins of yarn for that baby blanket that I started
crocheting before the
Holidays.
(The upstairs neighbors’ baby is growing like the proverbial
weed.)
The problem, of course, is that I don’t like doing
nothing. It’s boring.
Inaction requires vigorous supervision.
So I keep telling myself:
All those things you want to do will be done so much better next
week if you just Take It Easy this week.
I have new software to install.
But if something goes wrong, will I be “fit” to face the problem?
So much more “fit” next week.
Not that anything will go wrong, of course.
Nevertheless, Take It Easy.
In the meantime, the
Ghost of Christmas Past has
arrived, in the form of my credit card statement.
Spent money rather freely last month, didn’t we?
Another area in which to Take It Easy, as in, stop spending so
much. Not a problem.
I usually don’t go much over around a hundred bucks in a typical
month.
Nevertheless, Take It Easy.
By next week, I will be feeling oh so much better.
In the meantime, the sun is shining, the power and water are on,
all’s right with the world.
Yes, one of the poinsettias in the window box is dying, but let nature
take its course.
So everyone, just Take It Easy.
Love, as always,
Pete
