Dear Everyone:
The really big news this week is about “Jeannie”.
A few months ago she spent a lot of money and time taking a “real
time” test with her writer and laptop.
Real time meant the computer was translating and showing the
translation on the screen at the same time that she was stroking it into
the writer. It was a very
difficult test.
This week “Jeannie” found out that she PASSED the
test! Yeah!
It means she is now qualified to take depositions in real time,
which generally costs more.
In other news…
Last weekend, my
laptop suddenly stopped talking
with the wireless router. My
network was down. This
evening was the first chance I’ve had to fix the problem.
I finally figured out that the router needed to be powered down
before I could re-initialize it.
All better now, but it took a lot of time that I would normally
be spending on the Weekly Letter.
Last night was ARMA night, with a program AND a
board meeting, so I didn’t get to bed until late.
And woke up late. And
got to work late. And had to
stay late at the office to make up the time.
Upshot: Really short
Letter this week.
The other bit of news is that I am once again
teaching people how to use a software application.
It’s sort of part of GIL 3 and sort of not.
It was part of GIL 3 until the Powers That Be decided to
“uncouple” the two parts of the overall project.
More about that next week.
Everybody please pray for rain and lots of snow in
the mountains.
Love, as always,
Pete
