Love, As Always, Pete

The Weekly Letters, by A. Pedersen Wood

Dear Everyone:

With “Jeannie” and “Marshall” out of town last weekend, I had intended to go and see Mulan, the new Disney animated feature.  “Jeannie” had threatened severe bodily injury if I went to see The X-Files without her.

However, the news Sunday morning, that Dad’s health had suddenly declined, changed those plans.  Instead, I spent the day quietly by the phone, calling various siblings with news, or waiting for them to call back when they got my messages.

The rest of this week has consisted of checking the phone and email frequently for updates.  As of last night, Dad was back at home.  At least there’s some comfort in that.

Email is proving to be a boon.  Almost everyone has an address and a single Note can be sent to everyone at once.  At the moment, there’s probably some duplication (forwarding messages to people who’ve already received them), but we’ll get it worked out.

One of the things I needed to do at work this week was update my database for ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators).  Out of about 300 people, fully half of them have indicated that they have email addresses.  In fact, at the association dinner the other night, I heard a woman saying, “Let me give you my new email address.  I still have the old one, but I have my own Web Site now.”

Will wonders never cease?

Hoping to have better news about Dad by next week.  I’ve included the golf joke because I think he’d appreciate it.

Love, as always,

Pete
