Dear Everyone:
This week’s letter is late because the third
Wednesday of every month is “ARMA
Night”. This is the night
that the local chapter of the Association of Records Managers and
Administrators has its monthly dinner meeting.
So Wednesday evening, instead of writing the weekly Letter, I was
eating Mandarin cuisine (pretty good, actually) and listening to a
lecture on Document Management (also pretty good).
This week’s letter is also going to be short
because this week has been a bit more than merely brutal.
Hysterical servers, confused PC’s, Technical Support never
letting the right hand know what the left is doing, and a full moon all
add up to an electronic three-ring circus.
Everybody knows
Murphy’s Law:
“Anything that can go
wrong will go wrong.”
Personally, I subscribe to O’Toole’s Corollary:
“Murphy was an optimist.”
However, “Jeannie” has provided some comic relief
per the attached.
In other news...
Did manage to see
Dante’s
Peak last weekend.
It didn’t get very favorable reviews, but having grown up in the
Pacific
Northwest, I can’t help but have an affinity for erupting volcanoes.
Sort of reminds me of work these days.
And it stars
Pierce Brosnan,
a man who always looks good in clothes, and who can blurt out terms like
“it’s a
pyroclastic cloud” with the best of them.
Lackluster music, great special effects.
Love, as always,
Pete
PS.
“Jeannie” has a possum,
just like Mother. Very
young, smaller than the cat as yet, but it will grow quickly if she
keeps feeding it. Also,
“Jeannie” has a cold.
